“Germanfest” fundraiser is based on the City of Sioux Falls celebrating the whole country of Germany and our long-standing partnership with the City of Potsdam.
Sister Cities is a viable means of creating positive social change and urges countries around the world to share and understand their culture through such relationships. We are raising funds in order to create scholarships for students and support other cultural relationships.
Proceeds from the local “Germanfest” go towards the event for next year, scholarship funding, and maintaining our Sister Cities relationship with Potsdam, Germany.
The event is organized by a small group of volunteers who want to give back to the community by having a free festival for everyone to attend. Although we are a small town, Sioux Falls is filled with big hearts. It's the people of Sioux Falls who can make one small event worthwhile.

Music and Entertainment starts at 2:00pm and ends 10:00pm
16th Annual Dachshund Dog Races - 4:30PM - 5:30PM
Dakota Dachshund Rescue will have Wiener Dog Races beginning at 4:30 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting Dakota Dachshund Rescue. Dachshund races are always entertaining as one never knows what is about to happen next! All dachshunds will also have the opportunity to sit on the track, visit with other contestants, or roll over for a tummy rub!
All registered dachshunds will have the opportunity to run "free style" on the track with one person at the Start Line and one person at the Finish Line. There will be a 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winner in each heat. Should there be more than one heat run in any category (Juniors, Adults or Seniors), there will be a "race off" for the first place winners of each heat immediately following those races to determine the Grand Dachsie title and bragging rights for 2022!
Kinder Area - Puppet Show at 2:00PM & 3:00PM
The Kinder "Children" area opens at 2:00PM, and enjoy music, food, puppet shows and story time! Bring the kids and grandchildren to Sioux Falls Germanfest for a whole day of family fun! Parental supervision required.
The non-profit, Sister Cities Association welcomes family's to their annual event, Germanfest, sponsored by, Beal Distributing, CNA Surety, First Premier Bank , Huber Electric, Steins and Vines, Graham Automotive, Waste Management.
